JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 3, 2024 – Snowbird Technologies is proud to announce its participation in the esteemed Best Ranger Competition scheduled to occur from April 12-14 at Fort Moore, Georgia.
Since its inception in 1982 by Dick Leandri, the Best Ranger Competition has served as a tribute to Lieutenant General David E. Grange, Jr. This rigorous, multi-day event showcases the elite soldiers of the world – the United States Army Rangers – who undergo various obstacle courses, range competitions, and marathons to demonstrate their unparalleled skills. At the conclusion of the competition, the top two-man team will be recognized from the entirety of the United States Armed Forces.
Snowbird Technologies is honored to have been invited to partake in this year’s competition, contributing an innovative water supply solution for the participants. The Snowbird Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG), renowned for its efficiency, will be on-site to generate drinking water from moisture in the air during event exercises. This cutting-edge system, known for its portability, is capable of producing up to 20 gallons of potable water every 24 hours.
Adam Kolb, Director of Engineering at Snowbird Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, stating, “The Snowbird AWGs are compact yet robust machines that efficiently condense moisture from the air, subject it to a rigorous three-tier filtration process, and deliver drinking water without relying on a natural ground source. Showcasing this equipment in a field setting among the intended users enhances our visibility to those who stand to benefit most from integrating AWGs into expeditionary missions.”
The Snowbird AWG designated for the event is the model SAWG-28, weighing 180 lbs (empty weight) and capable of internally storing up to 10 gallons of purified water. Powered by a generator, the system will provide a reliable water supply option for both participants and spectators of the Best Ranger Competition.
