JACKSONVILLE, Fla., February 18, 2025 – Snowbird Technologies, a leader in innovative additive manufacturing solutions, is proud to announce that is has been awarded the Expeditionary and Tactical 3D Printing Excellence Award at the 2025 Military Additive Manufacturing Summit, known as MILAM, in Tampa, Florida.
This prestigious award recognizes Snowbird Technologies’ outstanding contributions to advancing 3D printing capabilities for military applications, particularly in expeditionary and tactical environments. The company’s cutting-edge solutions have played a critical role in enhancing military readiness, reducing logistical challenges, and delivering rapid, on-demand manufacturing capabilities in austere and forward-deployed settings. Snowbird’s submission specifically highlighted achievements during the Rim of the Pacific and TRIDENT WARRIOR exercises over the summer of 2024. Snowbird leased its SAMM Tech deployable manufacturing platform for installation and use onboard a San Antonio class amphibious transport dock during the exercises while at sea. The system was used to fabricate a critical replacement part for the ship’s reverse osmosis pump within hours of being installed on the deck of the ship. Without this technology onboard, the ship would have returned to port and been negatively impacted by delays in sourcing a replacement part in a timely manner.
