JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Snowbird Technologies, a leader in expeditionary equipment solutions for austere environments, participated in the U.S. Army Reserve’s Combat Support Training Exercise (CSTX), held June 7–18, 2026, in Gulfport, Mississippi.
As part of the Operation Sentinel Justice (OSJ) Technology and Innovation Experimentation Program, hosted by Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center and the Gulfport Training Area, Snowbird’s technologies were evaluated by the U.S. Army Reserve’s 75th Innovation Command to assess their operational effectiveness in realistic field conditions.
During the exercise, Snowbird deployed its SAWG-150 Atmospheric Water Generator, a trailer-mounted system designed to autonomously produce up to 150 gallons of potable water per day directly from ambient air without requiring a traditional water source. The system’s integrated 20-kW diesel generator enables operation in remote, infrastructure-limited environments.
The SAWG-150 was installed and operational within minutes of arrival. Heavy rainfall during setup allowed the system’s integrated rainwater seam to capture the rain drops while the system was actively extracting moisture from the air, contributing to the collection and purification of approximately 63 gallons of potable water within the first few hours of operation.
Throughout the exercise, favorable environmental conditions enabled the SAWG-150 to average more than 220 gallons of potable water per day, significantly exceeding its rated production capacity. The system also achieved an impressive 9:1 water-to-fuel efficiency ratio, producing nine gallons of water for every gallon of diesel consumed—surpassing its projected efficiency under standard operating conditions.
CSTX also marked the field debut of a new mineralization filtration stage, enhancing water taste while supporting longer-term storage.
To support the exercise, Snowbird deployed a dedicated Field Service Representative onsite. Chad Hopkins, Mechanical Engineer at Snowbird Technologies, commented:
“Our goal is to provide reliable access to clean water wherever the mission takes our service members. The SAWG-150 exceeded even our in-house testing results. Initial skepticism quickly turned into confidence as military personnel experienced the system’s portability, production capacity, and water quality firsthand. It was an extremely successful and valuable event for our team.”
Participation in CSTX 2026 reinforces Snowbird Technologies’ commitment to delivering innovative sustainment solutions that improve operational readiness, reduce logistical burdens, and enhance resilience for the modern warfighter.
