JACKSONVILLE, FL — Snowbird Technologies, a leading provider of advanced defense and industrial-grade equipment solutions, will make its first appearance as an exhibitor at the 2026 Additive Manufacturing for Oil and Gas Conference (AM for ONG), taking place October 14-15 at the Norris Conference Center in Houston, Texas.
The event brings together oil and gas leaders and additive manufacturing experts to explore real-world AM applications, including maintenance and repair, supply-chain resilience, and production of critical components in remote and offshore environments.
Snowbird will highlight how its Snowbird Additive Mobile Manufacturing Technology (SAMM Tech) portfolio’s containerized, deployable hybrid manufacturing platform can bring metal and plastic additive and CNC manufacturing capabilities closer to the point of need. For oil and gas operators, this approach has potential to reduce dependence on traditional supply chains and provide an alternative for long-lead, difficult-to-source, or mission-critical components, particularly in remote and offshore environments.
The platform’s potential is demonstrated by results from its 2026 RIMPAC deployment where SAMM Tech produced mission-critical parts aboard the USS Essex and ashore at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. Across seven evaluated parts, on-demand manufacturing delivered significant cost advantages for four parts, with reported savings of up to 351% compared with OEM procurement. For other components, the primary benefit was time: production avoided up to 692 hours of traditional procurement time, demonstrating the operational value of manufacturing parts when and where they are needed.
“The oil and gas industry faces many of the same supply-chain and sustainment challenges we see in defense, particularly when critical components are needed in remote or difficult-to-access locations,” said Karl Wojtkun, Vice President of Business Development. “RIMPAC demonstrated the potential of moving manufacturing closer to the point of need, and we look forward to exploring how those lessons can translate to oil and gas operations.”
Snowbird representatives will be available during the conference to discuss SAMM Tech and opportunities for deployable additive manufacturing across the oil and gas value chain.
